FAQ
What is the ROI formula?+

ROI (%) = (Net Gain ÷ Cost) × 100, where Net Gain = Final Value − Initial Investment. A result above 0% means a profit; below 0% means a loss.

How is annualised ROI different from total ROI?+

Total ROI is the overall return across the full holding period. Annualised ROI (equivalent to CAGR) expresses what that return would be per year, making it easier to compare a 3-year investment with a 1-year one.

Can I use this for marketing or business ROI?+

Yes. Switch to 'Gain & Cost' mode and enter your revenue (gain) and spend (cost). The formula is identical — ROI = (Revenue − Cost) ÷ Cost × 100 — whether you're measuring ad campaigns, product launches, or capital projects.

What does a 2× return multiple mean?+

A return multiple of 2× means your investment doubled — you got back twice what you put in, which equals a 100% ROI. A 1× multiple means you broke even (0% ROI).
