About

The Pomodoro Timer helps you work smarter by splitting your day into 25-minute deep-focus sessions separated by short 5-minute breaks. Based on Francesco Cirillo's Pomodoro Technique, this free online tool runs entirely in your browser with no login required. Customize durations, track completed sessions, and hear an audio cue the moment each phase ends — making it easy to protect your focus and avoid burnout.

FAQ
What is the Pomodoro Technique?+

The Pomodoro Technique is a time-management method where you work in focused 25-minute intervals (called pomodoros) separated by 5-minute breaks. After four sessions you take a longer 15-minute break. The rhythm helps sustain concentration and prevent mental fatigue throughout the day.

Can I change the timer durations?+

Yes. Open the Settings panel and adjust the focus duration (1–90 min), short break (1–30 min), long break (1–60 min), and how many sessions trigger a long break. Click Apply Settings to restart the timer with your new values.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?+

The countdown continues as long as the browser tab stays open, even when it is in the background. The tab title updates to show the remaining time so you can glance at it from other tabs. Closing or refreshing the tab will reset the timer.

Why does a beep play when a session ends?+

A short audio tone is generated using the Web Audio API to alert you when a phase completes so you do not have to watch the screen constantly. If no sound plays, check that your browser has not blocked audio autoplay — clicking Start or any button before the session ends usually activates the audio context.
