Understanding Your Results

  • Compound growth means gains accelerate over time — a 5% monthly rate turns 5K into 9.0K in 12 months.
  • Typical organic growth rates: Instagram 1–3%/month, TikTok 5–15%/month for active creators, LinkedIn 2–5%/month.
  • To hit a specific milestone faster, focus on high-engagement content, consistent posting cadence, and cross-platform promotion.

FAQ
What growth rate should I use for Instagram or TikTok?+

Organic Instagram growth typically ranges from 1–3% per month for established accounts. TikTok can be much higher — 5–15%/month — for active creators posting consistently. New accounts in a growth phase may see 10–20%+ per month. Use your past 30 or 90 days of data for the most accurate projection.

What is the difference between % growth and fixed follower growth?+

Percentage (compound) growth means each period's new followers are a portion of your current count, so gains accelerate as your audience grows — like interest compounding. Fixed (linear) growth adds the same number of followers every period regardless of your current size, useful for modeling steady paid-ad acquisition or a newsletter referral program.

How is the doubling time calculated?+

Doubling time is the number of periods it takes for your follower count to reach double its starting value at your chosen compound growth rate. As a quick reference, divide 70 by your monthly growth percentage (the Rule of 70) to estimate doubling time — e.g., 5%/month doubles in about 14 months.

Can I model follower loss or a declining account?+

Yes. In percentage mode, enter a negative growth rate (e.g., -2%) to model churn or audience decline. In fixed mode, enter a negative number to subtract followers each period. The calculator will floor follower counts at zero and show red values for any period with net losses.
