FAQ
What is CPM and how is it calculated?+

CPM stands for Cost Per Mille (cost per 1,000 impressions). It is calculated as: CPM = (Total Spend ÷ Impressions) × 1,000. For example, spending $500 on 200,000 impressions gives a CPM of $2.50.

What is the difference between CPM, CPC and CTR?+

CPM measures how much you pay per 1,000 ad views (impressions-based). CPC (Cost Per Click) measures how much you pay each time someone clicks your ad. CTR (Click-Through Rate) is the percentage of impressions that result in a click — it connects the two: a higher CTR means a lower effective CPC for the same CPM.

How many values do I need to enter to get results?+

You need at least two related values. For example, Spend + Impressions computes CPM. Spend + Clicks computes CPC. Clicks + Impressions computes CTR. If you enter three or more values the calculator will resolve all six metrics automatically.

What are good CPM and CTR benchmarks for social media ads?+

For social media ads, typical CPMs range from $5 to $15, CTRs from 0.5% to 2%, and CPCs from $0.20 to $2.00. These vary significantly by platform, audience, creative quality, and industry — the benchmarks panel in the tool shows ranges for display, social, and search channels.
